Dialogue first
Hiwar means “dialogue.” Language lives in conversation, so conversation is where learning starts.
About Hiwar
Too many adults are left to learn Arabic through apps, recordings, and grammar-heavy classes without ever getting to speak. Hiwar exists to change that.

Our story
I have studied Arabic for more than 15 years with both non-Arab and native Arab scholars, including at seminaries where every class was taught entirely in Arabic.
Arabic changed my life. It brought me closer to the Quran and opened doors to friendships, travel, business, and the Arab world. I also speak and teach Arabic with my children because I believe it is a language to live and pass on.
I created Hiwar because too many adults are left to learn through apps, recordings, and grammar-heavy classes without enough opportunity to actually speak. Hiwar offers a different path: live teachers, meaningful speaking practice, small groups, and the support to keep progressing when life gets busy.
I believe you can learn Fusha Arabic, and I am rooting for you from your first class until Arabic becomes part of your life.

Mission
Live teachers, meaningful speaking practice, small groups, and the support to keep progressing when life gets busy.
Hiwar means “dialogue.” Language lives in conversation, so conversation is where learning starts.
Four students per group, so every learner is seen, heard, and corrected.
Clear expectations, plus real flexibility when life happens.
Fusha that connects you to the Quran, to people, and to the wider Arab world.
Teaching philosophy
A child begins by hearing the language, using it with real people, making mistakes, and hearing it again. We teach through live interaction, repeated exposure, and useful conversation, then use grammar to explain and strengthen what you are already learning to say.
Grammar matters. It should help you communicate, not delay communication.
Hiwar teaches Fusha Arabic: the Arabic of the Quran, formal speech, education, media, and communication across the Arab world.
